IMHO, you will be better off using a stainless steel backplate, wings  and
some sturdy webbing. Look in the archives of the Aquanaut mailing list for
some reasons why. The keyword is 'Hogarthian'.
You can also look at Wrolf Courtney's website. It contains a lot of info
