Awhile back there was a tread discussing the unreliability of zip ties, i.e. their tendency to fall apart without warning, and the difficulty to do a visual inspection of their viability. It was determined that cave reel line is the preferred method of attaching your gear to bolt snaps. The only thing which did not lend itself to tying with line was the inflator hose. After having 2 zip ties on my inflator hose fall off on my last dive (I had backed them up with glue or it would have popped), I was determined to find hose clamps suitable for the inflator hose. Thanks to help from people on this list the hot setup is: McMaster-Carr Supply Company http://www.mcmaster.com/webcat/catalog.html Order part number 54195 K22 this is the 11/16-1-1/4" 5/16 marine grade hose clamp. A box of 10 is about 6 bucks. I know this makes you zip tie junkies nervous but I am now 100% zip tie free. That right, I am a scuba diver and I don't have one single zip tie on my entire rig. At first I put a couple on here and there (not actually holding anything of course) to make me feel better, but even those are gone now (they fell off).
