This is the kind of misinformation and complete stupidity that I am sick of seeing on here: >dwiden@in*.ne* writes: >>> "" Wreck - It is a much better inflator because of the volumet >>>of air it can ump into the BC especially at depth adn depth changes >>cna >be greater in a short period of time. ridiculous - read the gas laws and find out what the term "intermediate pressure" means. >dwiden@in*.ne* writes also: >>""* Cave - the smaller standard inflator has much smaller ports >>and has nit fill as fast. This makes it better for caves - sorry, wrong again - it is more dangerous in open water to have a runaway high performance inflator, but since only an idiot would have one, I guess you mean that DIVING with anyone this stupid in a cave is the real problem - I agree. The fact is that all inflators are "regulators" if you hold both buttons, and serve as a backup should your lefthand post get rolled of inadvertanly and you need your backup, which by the way should be hung around your neck ( inflator off of the long hose post. The absolute last thing you want is a high performance backup of any kind - this is a vestigal remnant of deep air diving logic. Do me a favor, and do not ever put out anything this dangerously stupid and then sign it "safe diving". >>and dwiden@in*.ne* writes: >>Safe Diving! >David -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
