The "genesis" manifold is not unique in that capability. All of the
manifolds available in the US. Sherwood makes two manifold one for the
Genesis thread size and one for the standard 3/4" thread. There a three
basic designs for manifolds currently on the market.
1) The sherwoow manifold uses a modified (o-ring on the end)
compression type fitting to connect the manifold together.
2) The OMS manifold uses the standard DIN connection between all of
the components of the manifold.
3) Dive Rite and Sea Elite? ( correct name?)
use o-rings on the valve stem to seal them manifold.
Of the three systems third method "in my opion" is the most tolerant of
abuse. If you rotate the crossover bar due to impact etc. the seal will
not be effected. With the first two methods you will usually develop a
manifold leak.
The OMS, Dive Rite, and Sea Elite manifolds are a modular system that
allow you configure various option in manifold design. H-valve, Dual
Manifold, Dual Manifold with cross over shut off.
Also when checking manufacturer advertisements the pressured rating will
vary based on the selling configuration. If the manifold is DIN but sold
with the yoke adapters DOT regulations only allow them to advertise it as
a 200 bar manifold. To the best of my knowledge all of this manifold are
rated 300 bar without the adapters.
