Dan, you seem to post a rather large amount of hear-say on this list. Are you sure everything that you are spouting off about is factual? > Tom, is it IANTD "Standard Operating Procedure", for instructors to " >NOT PURSUE" , a sinking student? Derick has now stated to the investigators >that he felt his life would be in jeopardy if he was to attempt to descend >after Jane. As you know, this was with less than 13 minutes bottom time , >and with close to 2/3 of his back gas left. So again, "Should an IANTD >instructor, who is "buddied" to his student, NOT PURSUE this student, >should the student begin a descent which clearly represented the student >was in an emergency situation" ???? Dan, curious to know if you were there wene this statment was given to the investigators. If not, how did you here this? > Is it IANTD policy to tell a class of your students, that it is, "everyman > for himself, and if you have an emergency, your on your own, because if I > have to help you, it could jeopardize my own life"...???? WOW again. did Darick really tell his class that? > Please Tom, What is your SOP in these matters. Now, Now. >No one has heard you condemn Derrick, for actions which are clear to >everyone else on this list, as negligent. SPEAK FOR YOUR SELF DAN! I,m on the list and not much more is clear to me except for the fact that you are accusing people of murder for a accident that took place while diving. By the way, is this an attempt for you to promote GUE, by hammering the rest of the technical agenies that may be someday be competition? HMMMMMM. If so, than I've got some GUE for you. > If you want to be the only one who wants to stand there and say that >Derrick was performing his duty properly, I think most will agree that this >position by you will tell the world a great deal about IANTD----and they >won't like what they just heard. And what organization is it that made Darek an open water instructor with less than a year or experience. Sounds like more political(BRAVO SIERRA) to me. >So far you have ignored my posts to you----I'll assume you did not like my >tone, so you chose not to answer me. Can't say I blame him personally. > Sorry Tom, I felt this girl was murdered by Derrick. Dan, just what is your interpitation of murder? As I see it, it would be the unlawful premeditated killing of a human being. Seems to me that both Tom and Derrick could have a case against you for defemation of charactor. > This belief would make most people with any shred of moral decency, pretty > upset. As it makes me upset you are such a little tatal tailing baby. > Would I have been right to call you an accomplice to this murder ---- > probably this would have been an unfair characterization of you, > particularly since I know that if you had been the instructor, you would > have gone down after her, and you would have saved Jane's life. Again, what about some individuality? Often that brings great things to the chalkboard. Please explain to me the down side of it. > Show me you have the balls to tell the truth here----or has martial arts > training to "5th dan" only taught you how to " run and hide today--live > and run another day ( the credo Derrick obviously goes by, but hopefully > you do not...). I also feel Tom is showing me a lot of mature control right now by not kicking your ass. How much instructional scuba have you done Dan. By that I meam teaching scuba? All this verbal diarrhea sound to me to be a bunch of negitive hype towards IANTD in order to open the doors for JJ new and upcomming organization. I don't think GUE needs to start out by bashing everyone else in order to make your selves look superior. In my opinion IANTD is the finest technical organization there is and it looks like they will continue to stay that way for a long time.
