The Mares regs are VERY hard to get a good tune on. They are not a reg that can be adjusted from the hose like most other regs. They are set by the locknut on the poppet, and a guage that Mares sells. Make sure he has a guage, and know the correct procedure for setting it up, it should hit at about 2" water measured on a magnahelic guage.
