Subject: Re: Aluminum Single Tank Adapter

Hidetaka,

RTV stands for "room temperature vulcanizing" being a non-engineer I
would explain that as "it cures at room temperature". It is used for
everything from gasket sealant, to gasket maker, to caulking. If you buy
it as caulking in Home Depot it will cost you about 4-5 bucks for a tube
of about 10 oz (the kind that goes in a caulking gun. If you get it at
an auto parts store it will be called gasket sealant or gasket maker and
cost about 3-5 bucks for a 4 oz toothpaste type tube. The versions that
you get from the auto parts store have some additional features such as
temperature resistance levels (i e good up to 700 degrees for the cooper
colored). For our purposes the Home Depot item would be best and is most
cost effective. It is normally clear but you might find it in colors
now. Just make sure it is the "pure" silicone caulk not one of the latex
or acrylic caulks with silicone added. It is sold under the brand name
"GE Silicone ll". Not sure if anyone else markets it.

Dave
