Last week Halcyon started VO2 max testing rebreather students. The tests were extensive, and as we predicted, the WKPP guys who train hard, scored well ( one who was in his mid 40's, scored a level considered excellent for a 20 year old, the others tested, all scored at levels considered GOOD for 20 year olds ). Of course, this is part of the issue. When you get to be 45 or 55 or 65, you CAN NOT say, Gee, for someone my age, I'm in pretty good shape......this is bullshit. Good for 55 is piss poor for a 20 year old. This will kill tech divers. You have to ALWAYS score well for a 20 year old, if you take deep diving seriously. And if you don't take it seriously, maybe TDI will offer you their special Dr. Kavorkian treatment, and help make your heart attack as painless as possible. I'll post more about the VO2 max tests in the next 2 days, as I get the time. Regards, Dan -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
