Tony,

I must be missing something.

How exactly does an isolator open 1/2-2 turns get shut down during a dive?
Ever seen or heard of a diver having experienced an isolator shut down from
contact with anything? I haven't. My personal experiences have shown that
the only valve subject to inadvertent shutdown is the on the left post.

I'd hate to burst your bubble, but your group of divers may not be the only
people on the face of this planet who practice shutdowns regularly. And no
matter how many times I practice I can still shutdown an isolator partially
closed quicker than one fully open. Just like I can run 1 mile quicker than
2 no matter how hard I train.

Regards, John
