Subject: Re: seeking opinions on isolator valves

Jim,

I do not think it would be that significant mainly because my isolator is
fairly "tight" and is thus difficult to turn by casual contact. It is also
canted towards my neck so my head would be the first thing to contact
something solid. Lines are a different matter and perhaps the next para
explains my reasoning on this.

My experience on wrecks is predominantly limited to S FL where visibility is
usually great (can't recall a wreck dive where vis wasn't at least 30-40')
and entanglement hazards are rather slight. Also most of the wrecks down
here tend to be of the artificial reef variety so much of the interior is
relatively clean. Some exceptions of course. The only entanglements I have
witnessed occur when a diver departs the wreck and is facing backwards to
the direction of travel due to current. Always helps to look where one is
going... Only had to whack my leg on a crows nest once for that lesson to
sink in...

Regards, John
