They will tie in the anchor, and then release either a tennis ball, or a styrofoam coffee cup, to signal that it is tied in all right. They can then get in their own dive. Their second dive will be just an abbreviated dive to release the anchor, after all the other divers are on board. Occasionally I have seen, in good weather, on a boat where everyone knows everyone, one of the more experienced paying customers unhook the anchor by prior arrangement.
