Bill,

I performed the surgery most recently at Ginnie while there for a cave
class. The shop there normally carries 9" and 12" corrugated hoses. At the
time they only had the 12" hoses in stock, so that's what I used. It worked
out fine. I don't know where else to find the hoses, none of the local shops
(west-central NJ) I go to have them, in fact one shop owner looked at me
like I was nuts when I asked about them (I've since stopped going there for
anything). I've not tried mail order from Lloyd's or anywhere else, though
that should work.

One wing in question is an AUL "WKPP" wing (I never did find out if the
WKPP gave permission for that marking - but there it is, in big, gold,
bold embroidery). The other is a Seapro. Getting the old hose off both
was not a big problem, as I recall there was no glue or very little glue
present. I did not use any glue on the replacements, either (no pull dumps).
Just double high-quality zip ties, nice and tight, one turned so it's end is
not aligned with the other. As a matter of course I replace these ties when
I do my annual gear inspections.

I have also done this on two OMS 85lb bondage wings (no, I'm not
selling these for a friend - they're mine, and they will stay mine). These
DID have some really tenacious glue on them. Since I wanted to keep the old
hose (just in case), I just took my time peeling back the hose slowly. It did
take a lot of time. I've since learned that a little bit of heat, like from a
hair drier, might have made the process easier. Again, I didn't use any glue
on the replacements.

Hope that helps!
