I just started my subscription to this list, and as the initial response requested, I'm sending out a short, introductory posting. I'm 28 years old, and became a PADI open-water diver at the age of 12 in 1978. I'm currently a PADI Divemaster, fairly active in assisting in the certification of PADI OW, AOW, & some specialty courses. I have no ambition to become an instructor, but in addition to being a PADI Divemaster, I'd like to become a PADI Master Diver. I have Wreck, Deep, & Cavern specialties, and am looking forward to taking Ice Diver this Winter, then try to find one other specialty course which I feel might be worth the cost. I'm interested in getting into 'technical diving' because (sadly) I just don't get the same sense of excitement when diving on some of the shallower, more open wrecks. I intend on taking some of the basic tech. classes such as Nitrox, Advanced Nitrox, Deep Air, etc. classes & then perhaps getting into cave diving, although living in the Great Lakes area, my primary interest is wreck diving. I have around 500 logged dives, about 200 of them being deeper than 100', approx. 50 deeper than 130, and a few at the 200' level. Equipment-wise, I've just purchased a dual-120 setup with Poseidin Odins, Sherwood manifold, and OMS dual-baller wings. I'll be in the market for a secondary computer to back-up my SCAN-4, and a good dive light setup. I'm single, employed iin the communications field, & live near Ann Arbor, Michigan. I have one son, Harley A. Hogg. He's a Potbelly Pig, & I'd love for him to get into SCUBA diving. I'm somewhat active on the SCUBA-related forums of Usenet, GEnie, & America On-Line, & one of these days will check out the one on Compu$erve. Tim
