Some of you may remember a series of postings made to the techdiver list =

June, 1996 (subject: NC Deep Dive 6/4/96) reporting the known circumstanc=

of the June 4, 1996 attempt to reach the wreck of the oil tanker PAN AM
(495fsw off Morehead City, North Carolina) by technical divers Ken Clayto=
n
and Doug Summerhill. Clayton attained a depth of 456fsw, however did not
reach the wreck. Summerhill did not return from the dive.

In the weeks following the dive, numerous comments were made by subscribe=

of the techdiver list, some of which prompted a libel and slander lawsuit=

filed by Peter E. Hess, attorney for Kenneth R. Clayton, Plaintiff, namin=

Roderick M. Farb, Defendant.

The suit was filed October 30, 1997 in the Superior Court, State of
Delaware, New Castle County. The first court session is scheduled for Apr=
il
13, 1998.
