Hi guys,

I have been shopping trimix courses. I am really interested in using mix
shallow, like 120-140 fsw , especially hyperoxic mix like (30%o2, 10% He, bal
N2) to avoid the post dive fatigue type feelings. I am currently ANDI complete
nitrox certified and have 180 dives with at least 100 on nitrox, with varing
depths from 35 to 135 fsw.
My ANDI cert lets me use any nitrox but no 100% o2, to do any dive I am cert
for and I have no deco training.

this is basically how the cost of a trimix cert goes for a diver at this
point:

Adv nitrox: course fee $ 150-200
                      dives $ 75 per dive X 6 ( avg.)
                        gas $10 X 6

   Tech nitrox/deep air : course fee $ 250-200
                                     dives $ 75 per dive X 6 (avg)
                                        gas $10 X 6

   intermediate/trimix : course fee $595-695
dives $100-200 per 2 dive with
12 dives avg req
                                        gas $20--40 X 12

                grand total : $ 2750

then you throw in food, gas to drive to the boat, manuals, extra gear
required ( stage bottles& regs? ), maintainence on that gear, o2 cleaning,
tips for the crew...

You could easy run three to four grand here. I know this sport aint for the
faint of wallet, but the guy who said deep air lives because of money was dead
right.

I dont expect anyone to give me something for nothing, and I have no problem
with any of these folks making a living. But to say that people dont use
trimix, at least here on Long Island, NY because of stupidity is wrong.

Anyway I have to go run now.

Cheers,

Al Marvelli aka KybrSose@ao*.co*
