before we carry this further let me also say i've stopped beating my wife.

the FACTS remain that individual responsibility should be (like earning a
living) a matter of individual choice.

until it MEANINGFULLY harms another living thing.

you cannot abridge people's rights in order to "idiot proof" the system.
grandmum diving doesn't AUTOMATICALLY hurt soemone else and she DOES have a
right, in my opinion, to risk her own health.

we COULD make drinking illegal (again...you geniuses did that in this
country once, right?) because it would prevent drunk driving.
or we COULD just wait until people drive drunk and have laws against THAT
specific behaviour.
