This is a very interesting thread. It seems to me that there will never be any physical/mental standards test for tech diving, simply because it will limit the amount of *paying* customers. These agencies and the dive shops that are affiliated with them are here to make a profit (and that's fine). Let's face it, there are more divers that want to take a PADI AOW class than there are divers that want the IANTD Tech EANx. Physical prerequesites are not good for business because they make the pool of potential customers that much smaller. I think that one reason for all these accidents last year is partly due to the thing now that tech diving is very fashionable right now.
