Monday Feb. 23rd, 1998 4:30 pm I made a dive on the whats left of the Steamer Norland. She is in 62 feet of water just off the south side of the city of Milwaukee. Location N 42* 58.48, W 87* 48.61; 32999.8,49320.5. The rudder post is the highest point with 46 feet to the surface. The boiler is the largest part still standing with 51 feet of depth. I had water temp. of 34* F and 5 to 10 feet of vis. The entire area seems to be covered with a fine clay silt that stirs up and reduces vis down to zero even with only one diver moving around. I left a blue soap bottle marker tied to the rudder post. Safe diving. Jerry Guyer -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
