Who's blindly agreeing? Think it through. How do you realistically share 
gas with independent doubles in a decompression situation? If you don't 
have the right equipment, adding a long hose to independent doubles won't 
make the situation right. If a correct setup is not an option then you 
need to modify your dive plan. I suggest that you either do no-stop 
diving or give up planning on being a backup to your buddy. And don't be 
so touchy, go get laid or something.
