Paul, I don't know how others went through it, but extended diving kind of snuck up on me. I was dropping into deco and counting on my pony for the deco hang. And I happen to know that there is not an original thought left on this planet, so if *I* was doing this crap, so are a bunch of other guys (you pack of "oh, only for emergencies" goddamn liers). It was not until I started hanging out on this list that I came to realize what a stupid thing I was doing. Yes George slapped my monkey hard, called me a no-good, worthless, pencil-dicked stroke who should quit diving. Did I boo-hoo and call everybody a bunch of meenies? No. Did I post whiney, pissy, wussyfied messages like "Well! I've been on this list for 2 whole weeks and I never have seen such a bunch of uncooth barbarians in my life! huff puff!" Shit no, I kept my mouth shut and my eyes open and learned. It's threads like this which caused me to change my strokeish ways and start to actually *enjoy* diving. I don't know everything. There are dozens of people on this list whose dives make mine look like farts in a bathtub. I have tons and tons to learn. There is *always* somebody who knows more than you do. If you play your cards right and listen, this list is a goldmine of information in the traditionally close-mouthed tech diving community.
