Jammer,

I am currently using double 72's when doing sport dives (104's for tech dives)

The 72 are nice in that they are not heavy, they are steel, plenty of capacity,
and I do not have to worry about the configuration CF with a pony. This also
allows me to have the same set of emergency responses whether sport diving or
tech diving.

For the 72's though I need a V-weight. This is a bummer as I cannot use my
argon setup (pony bracket with cam straps) as the V-weight interferes with the
strap. I really don't need the argon with this setup though and use backgas
(I am diving for fun and want it as light as possible) for inflation. Sure is
MUCH better than a single with pony.

I can still use my light (waist mounted canister) and everything else is the
same.

Is there anyone out there using two steel 72s as doubles?

Seems to me, in light of all the blathering going on lately against pony
bottles, that this could at least be a viable solution.

-Somewhat smaller and lighter than 104s
-140+ total feet of gas
-All gas accessable from either reg
-Compact, hogarthian setup

Should be plenty for a simple sport dive.

Why would or wouldn't someone use this rig, set up properly, rather than
an H valve, or a large pony?
