There's more than one way to tell people they're doing something wrong.

Some folks are happy just to have an opportunity to show off what they
know, and do so in loud and bellicose tone.

Others actually want to avert a problem and impart some knowledge, and
can do so with a minimum of embarassment to those being corrected.

I've only been on the techdive list for a couple of weeks, but given
some 
of the flaming I've read here, I wonder if there are any folks in the
latter category left.
