Shaun- The key word is *unnecessary* equipement. I used to used bondage wings, a gauge on each regulator, flares, strobes, tubes, all the crap that I saw the other divers use. I looked like a goddamn swimming dive shop or some kind of LP hose display. When you think about what the *real* risks are with your particular kind of dive, you can leave most of the crap behind and really improve your diving experience and reduce the possibility of clusters. Of course this is what *I* experienced. If you are an insecure stroke, you probably ought to take all this gear and never leave the anchor line.
