     Jim,
       I was diving doubles before I had a pony. I dive doubles about 
80% of the time. I just have a hard time justifying double 80's for a 
100' Caribbean reef dive. Let me finish this discussion with what I 
tell my students: "A pony bottle is no more than a small spare air 
source which is designed to get you to the surface and through your 
safety stop in a normal fashion. It is for emergency use only! It is 
not additional air to supplement your main tank! It is not for the 
overhead environment! If you need more air or are going into the 
overhead environment, you need to use doubles".

    I think we have now thoroughly discussed this subject. Lets move 
on to something else :-)
