I've never had it happen in the water, nor have I ever heard of it happening. The intent of the burst disk is to 'rupture' before the tank does while under increased pressures and/or heat. So, you would probably have to be diving in some HOT water [grin]. For the burst disk to fail in the water... albeit no impossible... I believe it to be improbable. You may develop a leak due to an incorrectly installed disk. Or... after an extreme period of time without replacement it may be possible for the disk to rupture. Again - very unlikely.
