I know people must be getting bored with this train by now. I apologize.

Marc,

I just spoke with both Fritz and Kevin regarding your post.

I understand from Fritz that Tom Mehan was your instructor. Did you know
Tom has not taught at MBT in a year and half? Your story was not the only
one. Shortly after Tom "sought" employment elsewhere I became involved
with MBT. Due to the problems with Tom I retaught every student that had
complaints at NO CHARGE. I personally paid for their books and certification.

From your post it appears your girlfriend no longer wants to dive but if she
does I extend the same offer to her. I will teach her openwater scuba
diving at no cost to her including books and certification, tank rentals and
will cover her boat fees in a private NAUI class, unrelated to ANY dive
shop. She will only have to provide her own snorkeling gear. You can ask
anyone who has ever taken a class with me from openwater to Instructor
Trainer/Course director Workshop that my students/instructor candidates are
very well pleased. My credentials and reputation are impeccable and Kevin
will attest to this as well as NAUI HQ and any former student. I can't
guarantee I will certify her. I can guarantee her I will work with her till
she no longer wants to keep trying to get her to the openwater level. I'm
sorry she had a bad experience and am even sorrier she cannot enjoy the
world of the sea. I specialize and greatly enjoy teahcing "scared" or
"timid" students who ahve bad experiences. They often are the most
appreciative and turn out to be some very accomplished divers.
Again, I was NOT involved with the shop when Tom taught there.

Any problems that existed due to Tom's students that have been brought to my
attention have been rectified by me personally, at my expense and the shop's
as I use their tanks.

As you noted the keg beer was gone soon after my arrival. I can personally
assure you ALL students are now trained to standards and beyond. Any
information to the contrary will be investigated. I don't associate with a
shop that doesn't follow standards. I and MBT have done every thing possible
to correct what is now a very past problem. Come by the shop and see.

My offer to your girlfriend stands as long as I am alive. If she doesn't
want to even go to the shop call me directly to schedule classes at her
convenience. 504-828-9558. susan
