I'd agree with you on everything there Jon, except for one thing... Why would you need to plug the burst disc? I understand the reasoning in the case of long cave penetrations, but it seems to me that this idea violates the Hogarthian principle of only using what you absolutely need. Sure, a burst disc will never blow underwater, but you can apply the Hogarthian principles to the possibility of accidents above water as well. I know that the chances of a tank exploding are slight at best, but the extra wear on your tank will shorten it's lifetime drastically (I would put the odds on 2 hydros at most before it's returned with a hole punched in it). The burst disc is in there for a reason, and with proper gas management, you shouldn't have a problem. If you over pressurized your 104 to 4000 p.s.i. (assuming a fill pressure of 2900, since I can't remember what it is for sure right now), the extra 1100 psi will get you an additional 39-40 cf. This would give you around 144 cuf. Why not just use double 72's, properly pressurized with the proper burst discs, and never have to change your configuration, other than adding a little weight?
