Look guys, the whole hogarth idea is for decompression diving. Trying to apply decompression gas management principles to NDC diving is a waste of time. The only use for a pony is to give you enough air to get from the bottom straight to your 3 min. 10' stop. A 15 cu.ft. tank is enough for this. If you are decompression diving, then the solution is a set of doubles, and turn at 1/3s. This will give you enough gas for whatever situation you might come across. To rely on a pony for backup decom gas is as stupid as diving independent doubles. An H valve is a halfway measure, does not measure up to doubles with a isolator. > >What if a pony was not used?
