To be neutral then, he has to put quite a bit of gas in his BC.
If that BC isn't holding, then I'd be working hard and be very unhappy.

BTW, I also gulp gas and can't help it even when I was classed as very fit.
Some people just do.
The same people who boasted about their deep air prowess also made me feel
inadequate in this department.
Peer pressure started me skip-breathing and eventually helped me to black
out deep.
Used to get a blinding headache too.
Now I just wear bigger bottles and don't listen to them.

But this isn't really contributing to the discussion.
I hope the recovery succeeds for everyone's sake, and that we can learn from
this incident.
