Ummm, excuse me, whilst I am no Tech Diver/Cave Diver (CDAA Cavern Certification only)/Deep (whatever that may mean) Diver etc I do occasionally employ twin tanks and similar toys and I do lurk on these lists (getting amused, bemused, horrified, dismayed and probably a few other things, as the case may be). I have to say that the u/w photographic forum which I am extremely fond of, being my kind of bag, has considerably politer language even when people violently disagree, but each to his own. Several years ago the Dive Club I belong to enjoyed the company of a Canadian on secondment to our part of downunder and, as a parting gesture, he wrote an article for our journal describing ice diving, something that we Aussies would find particularly hard to do on our continent (including Tasmania). One point he made is that they used to employ a snowmobile (I think it was) to create circles at particular distances from the entry/exit hole, depending on size of lake as well as "spokes" at 12/6 o'clock and 9/3 o'clock, all of which could be seen reasonably well under water. If all of the above is true (I have no way at all of verifying it) it seems like a good idea. Regards, Christian -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
