My recollection of high school biology is a bit hazy, but I thought the basic metabolic cycle was oxidation of e.g. sugars into water plus carbon dioxide, and of more complex organic compounds containing carbon, oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen (e.g. proteins) into carbon dioxide, water, and urea (to get rid of the nitrogen.) Please, no flames. Wrolf
