Subject: Dry Suit Diving.
I have recently purchased a drysuit and am learning how to
dive it. My understanding is that I should have the auto
deflate almost all the way open, get in the water in all of
my gear with an empty set of doubles, and see how much
weight (if any) it takes to start descent. This would show
me the amount of weight that I need to carry. First of all,
is this correct?

My main question is this: If weighted as described above,
how would I compensate for the extra weight when beginning a
dive with a full set of doubles? I would not want to close
the auto deflate at all because that would just create a
large bubble in the drysuit and be uncomfortable to dive
in. I also would not want to use my wings because I know
that they are not supposed to be used with a drysuit. So,
how do I compensate for the weight of full tanks without
adjusting my auto deflate and without using my wings? Maybe
I'm all wrong... Help me out!

I'm sure this is a very basic question, especially for those
of you who have been diving dry for a long time, but I am a
very experienced diver - just not an experienced drysuit
diver!

Thanks!
