These young kids was if the information we have is correct PADI divers.
PADI standards does not promote deep air diving as we all know. These kids
were probably influenced buy other people or organizations. The
organization, TDI and its president, witch still promotes deep air should
start taking the criticism seriously and change their standards. This is
not enough though. Brett have declared in articles in magazines that its
not ok for everyone to do deep air  but its ok for him and a chosen few, to
do this mindless activity. This encourages people suffering from low self
confidence even more. They think they have a golden opportunity to be one
of the few. This is an devastating damage caused by Mr Gilliam to the
serious tech community. The ultimate price is paid by young divers not
aware of the dangers and under the influence of false ideals.

There are, and there will be more PADI kids that think they are related to
God because they went trough their IDC-IE, and a lot of them will die with
deep diving. They do not want to learn, the typical answer is:
<I do not want to be a student for the rest of my life...>
Any "technical agency" mixed gas course is better then nothing.
