Not sure what you are trying to say, but my interpretation is that
this is not a situation that warrants association or comparison.

The bottling out occured after the BSAC ignored the letter - I was asked
my opinion and said that George should still come - there was no person
in that audience that would have created a problem over 'akward
questions' - there is no arguement against the philosophy - you know
that.

I think the letter was the sum total of their bravery, however I am sure
we would all like a 'heads up' for a proper debate.

You are right about the regular thing.It is conference centre policy to
evacuate as a last resort due to large numbers of people etc (the alarms
only sound in certain places & security make the decision to evacuate)
We were backstage when this occured & it was a few minutes before the
radio message asked for a full evacuation. The organisers felt that some
childish interference may occur and had briefed all staff - this coupled
to the fact that the actuation was not the normal 'run of the mill'
problem and was suspected to be a malicious act.
