It's true. Everyone was pissed off about that, although I think a lot of
it was due to standing in the rain for 30 minutes until they declared the
building safe. Some of us were worried that both Hans and George would be
cut short, so we were glad to find that the schedule was pushed back to
accommodate.

There was also a letter sent to BSAC asking that George's invitation be
rescinded - I have a copy somewhere which I can dig out. Basically, the
names included Brett Gilliam (surprise, surprise) and some equipment
importers (notibly OMS, I think) and one or two close friends of Rob
Palmer.

I was told afterwards that some of the signaturies of that letter were
there to cause trouble and were going to harass George on his deep air
stance and probe further comments made after Rob Palmers and Rob Parkers
death. Basically, George dealt with it very well and the quote from Rob
Palmer......."in the sober light of day etc..." really put many people
thinking. Apparently the hecklers decided that they couldn't really attack
him on what he said so did nothing.

The BSAC did tape everything (as they do every year), but I'm not sure how
easy it would be to get it. Basically, an excellent piece of work which
I'd like to see again if I can get a copy.

John.
