This was mainly what I was asking about.I know almost nothing about
rebreathers;I dont know how difficult/possible it is to change a
setpoint in the water.

What is the difference between using 4 different deco tanks and
changing the setpoint on the rebreather 4 times? Is this possible or
ptractical? What is the difference between having one deco bottle of
say air and changing the setpoint, or having the discrete deco
bottles? From the tone of the posts, I'm guessing that what people are
doing is setting a high ppo2 at the beginning of the dive, and using
it throughout;IMO obviously unsafe due to tox & pulmo damage as you
mentioned.

Finally, when we're talking about 4 deco gases, what sort of
depth/time exposures are we talking about here?I'm out of date; I
know this, that's why I'm trying to re-educate myself.Since I've wised
up about diving deep on air,and the only trimix I've done was in its
infancy, of the " breath this, stop here, trust me" variety, I dont
anticipate any deep/prolonged exposure dives anytime soon.
For most of the dives I'll be doing in the forseeable future, 30'
is probably the deepest deco stop I'll experience; In the past, I've
dove air for these dives, and 100% O2 for the 10 & 20 stops with air
breaks. What should I be using in your opinion for these types of
decos?I'm a little concerned about the high ppo2 at 20 feet (1.7) even
though it is at rest, and usually not more than 15 minutes.
Thanks

If I did, I might not have to post these stupid questions;im ignorant,
not stupid. the difference is like gonnorhea & AIDS...one's curable,
one's not, even though neither one's desirable. Thanks for the help
seeking a "cure" ;)
