In practice you do metabolize any excess of
oxygen since the body draws from dissolved
oxygen before calling upon that bonded to 
hemoglobin. Oxygen becomes a deco liability
at PO2s far into the tox zone only.

Further, a famous dive researcher named Donald
compressed goats on pure oxygen to about 130'
for an hour. Several of them convulsed and were
locked out.

However,when the rest of them were decompressed
they developed serious symptoms of DCI which 
resolved after a few minutes. In other words, 
even if you were able to incur oxygen bends
it would resolve as soon as oxygen deprived
tissues absorbed it!
