Subject: Re: adaptors vs. singles backplates
I'm a very new diver, and have been following this group with interest
for a couple of months. I've noticed a lot of backplate/wings/harness
fans. One of constant comments I see is that the weight of the back
plates precludes (if I'm reading it right) the need for a weight belt.

My question is this: if your bc gets damaged, and you can't ditch any
weight, whats to keep you from sinking like a lead brick?
