Subject: adaptors vs. singles backplates
Sorry to digress a little, but I would be interested in hearing
the rationale for using any of these adaptors over a single-tank
backplate (available from SeaTec and others).

The adaptors cost more and all I've seen appear to be "more
complex" and have a higher profile than a singles backplate.
Counter-arguments I've considered and dismissed include:

  - Retain "familiarity" with doubles gear -- I rig harnesses
exactly the same so it *is* familiar

  - Need a crotch strap D-ring for scootering -- I don't scooter

The only real negative I know of is that I can only find these
things in ABS, but I don't believe this outweighs the positives.

Are there advantages to the adaptors I've failed to consider?

- Todd
