Jim I think you may not realise the obvious benefits of our "cheesey smelling limey helium". Standard procedure in the UK is to analyse the gas for O2 content then analyse for He content. Standard O2 galvanic cells are used for O2 analysis as elsewhere. He analysis is by taste. Gases in the 20-40% He content taste like Mild Cheddar, 40-50% are Medium Cheddar, 50-60% are Mature. I must confess that I have not yet had to sample a mix greater than this but I have it on reliable information that Extra Mature covers everything else. This has been proven empirically to be more accurate than the Donald Duck test as used by many divers on the other side of the pond when analysing tasteless seppo He. Naturally, a UK Trimix diver always carries a packet of crackers on each dive. At least our He does not taste of Garlic like that breathed across the Channel. Chuck- You know I built one of those before, but all it would make is that cheesey smelling limey helium. You figured out a way around that?
