Subject: Decompression related accidents

Hi all:

Sometimes its very hard for a non-english speaking person to understand
some terms on different subjects. One of those subjects is DCS (or DCI, or
whatever).
The reason i'm writting to the list is to ask if someone can explain me the
classification of decompression-related accidents. I always thought that
there were type I and type II, but this weekend a medical doctor told me
that the newest classification was: acute accidents (refering to pain and
neurologic accidents) and chronic (those "that happen only to commercial
divers, like dysbaric osteonecrosis). I had never heard about this and I
would like someone to tell me if this is acctually right or not. One other
thing: what is the difference between DeCompression Ilness and
DeCompression Sickness?

Thanks in advance

Pedro Neves
