Reinhard has the real poop on this.  The older Uwatec timers (the ones that
logged only 4 dives) were built to read to 999 fsw.  Though I can only attest to
434 fsw personally. 

Bob Raimo (sdcomments@ao*.co*) had some of the old versions for sale recently,
you might try an e-mail to him.

Ask JJ about his dive in Turkey. His gauge stopped at 325 ft, and continued
to read 325 as he descended.
