There is the old and new version of the Uwatec bottom timer. The old version reads below 100 meters, showing the complete number, e.g. 151 meters. The new version stops at 99.9 mtr. You can check which version you have by looking at the logbook. The old version stores 4 dives, the new version 9 dives. The old Uwatec Aladin Pro reads below 100 meters, but starts from zero again, e.g. 101 meters are displayed as 1 meter. The new Uwatec Aladin Pro displays down to 127 meters, indicating the three digits up to this depth. No idea about the imperial versions. I have seen the display go blank on two different bottom timers below 100 mtr. Both displays came alive again after some time during the dive and even at depth. Maybe there is a hardware reason that the software now limits the depth indication with the new version. I have never seen or heard of depth indication problems with the old Aladin Pro. Once one ascends above 99.9 m it correctly displays depth. Other information such as run time continues to display at all times.<< -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'.
