Philip - don't replace them unless you can get the old parts. They
will not wear out anyway. I have some for 5 years with no service. The
only reaon I ever found out here waws a problem is that I left some in
Sally Ward and the water has some fine grit that blocks the seat, so I
changed those and they failed immediately. Then I bought two new ones
for argon regs and they are the ones that failed every third dive, so I
put the old parts in them.

Ask Jason Richards what to do - he knows how to recognize the old and
new parts. I can becuase I bought a supply years ago, when I saw
Poseiden get the Goober for a rep - I figured , correctly, that they
were idiots, and sure enough, the Goober was just a symptom of an
underlying case of cluelessnesss. They changed tehe regs twice after
that and made them worse and worse. When they put the HP port out the
side, I knew what we were dealing with.

While this discussion has been going on, we may have found a machine
shop to make the parts. We already have a guy, Mike Trapanni, that has
made some of their other parts that they goobered up. Pretty soon, we
will be able to make the whole reg. Right now my posiedens have Beuchat
parts, Trappanni parts, and Scuba Pro o-rings so that they will work.
