George, You missed my point because I was unclear. On a Doria type dive my minimum gas mix would be 15/40. To air top a set of doubles three times after using one third of the gas each time, I would have to start with 10/90 to end up with something like15/40 on my last dive. The difference between 15/40 and 10/90 is 33% more hang time. > From: "G. Irvine" <gmirvine@sa*.ne*> > > > Ted, I guess you did not read or believe what I wrote. Let's start > over. That leaves no excuse for the air divers. If space isn't a problem, I'll take 4 sets of doubles with 15/50. > I like Bott's solution myself - well thought out by Bott, and handles > the other big problem we hear of in New England, which is heavy gas > usage due to the cold and current. > > Ted, you have a computer and deco programs - work out a few scenarios > and see what I mean. This is clear with me. > I agree that there is very little difference between 15/40 and 15/50 as far as deco schedules are concerned. However, between 15/40 and 10/90 there is a substantial difference.
