They are all about the same size, and you can't get the really small ones anymore. I like the SS better than brass because I can't count how many times I have cut my thumbs playing around with the brass snaps out of the water. It's a pain filing the brass snaps, so I just went SS. I use dry gloves and can operate the snaps just fine with one hand. SS snaps are more expensive, and are harder to get (at least in my area) but they are very nice. The best ones I have found came from Dive Rite. I bought a box from McMaster Carr, but half of them stuck in the open position which is not cool, and I had to fiddle with the rest to make them operate smoothly. >Particularly, I'm interested in cold water applications, that can be >manipulated with one hand, in gloves or three fingered mitts. Throw on a pair or gloves when you are watching your favorite TV show and fiddle with a snap. It will become second nature after a while. The only problem I have had is the thumb of my dry gloves get stuck in the snap sometimes when it closes. This is because the thumb is a little too big on my gloves. I'm just happy to have opposable thumbs ;-) -Jon -- Send mail for the `techdiver' mailing list to `techdiver@aquanaut.com'. Send subscribe/unsubscribe requests to `techdiver-request@aquanaut.com'.
