John Thanks for the info and I'm very sorry to hear the outcome. My interest in the accident was to see if there was anything to be learned that may help to avoid similar accidents We had a near-miss with a similar incident last year on a 50m air dive. Two of us became entangled in a reel line which we had tied off on the anchor. In the process of sorting this out, the clip on the line snapped so that when we had fixed the tangle we couldnt get back. At the same time an exhaust valve on my partner's dry suite had jammed and he was on his way. (It always all happens at once doesn't it). He managed to get some air out by stretching a wrist seal and eventualy unscrewed the valve and got the ascent back under control at around 15m. It sounds like this accident on the Lusitania (sorry about the original typo) was one of those incidents that can happen on any dive. Chris Vautin CVAUTIN@OZ*
