All of the O-ring catalogs and application notes I have seen show
Viton (flourocarbon) O-rings compatable with oxygen service. Parker
recomends Neoprene. I think viton has lower permeability than
neoprene, so would be less likely to embolize. Viton is considered the
best all-round O-ring material; easy to obtain.

Are you smoking O-rings or doing something different that would make
your selection critera different? There are other materials and
configurations at a higher material and manufacturing cost. we could
spend 10 dollars or more per composite O-ring and the HP hose is still
made of rubber.
