Chris, when a high-proifile diver like Palmer gets killed doing something stupid, we need to point it out. As one of Palmer's other good friends told me, " young Europeans every week deep air diving in Hurgata, and nobody cares because they are not well-known", but they die emulating the Gilliams, and when a guy like Palmer does it, well that tells eveyone else to go do it. Palmer would never have done anythihng like this until he got mixed up with Gilliam. We all liked Rob Palmer, I still have his books, and was really pissed that he got involved with an idiot like Gilliam - that was even stupider than diving deep air, and I know, I have done both myself, and both have caused me problems. However, there is no force on this earth that will allow me to sit back and hold hands with trash like Gilliam and pretend that Rob was not deep air diving. We all know the truth, and if it were not one more body on the stack of Gilliam's corpses, he would not have come so unglued. Anyone who wants to debate me on the deep air issue in the U.K. can step up and pet the pony, but the facts are so severely on my side that this is futile, and everyone is sick of the death and the nonsense, and everyone is sick of Gilliams schmear campaigns and vicious tadctics when he is so clearly in the wrong. This guy is gong to get to go head to head with me on this issue for real, and you will all be apprised of the results, because Gillima is nothing , deep air is a killer. With full appologies to the Brits, Palmer was an idiot for being involved with Giliam, and for diving deep air, just like my good friend Sheck Exley was an idiot for geting involved with Jim Bowdin, and for kiling himslef deep on air ( he dropped to 400 on air, switched to gas, and never made it back, found tangled in his decent line). Zero tolerance from me - I stand up for what is right, and I will be in the U.K. with a fine presentation as ususal, and then do a gear rigging seminar using the local guys gear, and then will be spending whatever time is necesary to pass on whatever infomation we have learned to anyone who wants it, as usual. The deep air diving, faulty gear producing, bad information peddling, do nothing but kill people crowd can write al the letters they want to write - everyone now knows who they are , and what they represent - death and destruction, and everyone knows my track record.
