Subject: Re: Singles and Wings?
Joel,

You'll probably get the same info from Cobb - Sea Elite's 60# wing is just the
right size for a single - I've used it with 80's and Steel 104's - You need to
make 2 phone calls to get what you need:

Lloyd Bailey's Scuba in Gainesville, FL for an AUL backplate with WKPP harness
- 90 dollars.
                                                                      DiveRite
Single Tank Adapter - about 80 dollars.

Diver's Supply 1-800-999-DIVE for their "tech 60" wing. about 160.00 dollars.

For 330 bucks, plus whatever shipping costs, you're into a system that will
make you wonder why anyone would spend as much or more (perhaps much more) on a
"tech" BC.

The only drawback to the above system is that when (if ever) you want to get
into diving doubles, you're probably gonna want a BC a bit more substantial
than the 60# wing. So you might want to consider going with the AUL or DiveRite
or SeaTec wing from jumpstreet. Some folks complain that the wing wraps around
the tank and traps air - requiring you to sort of shimmy from side to side when
you're trimmed out horizontally to use the dump.

Actually, a wing style BC is _designed_ to wrap around the tank - consider the
way they flair out towards the bottom - to concentrate their center of lift on
that part of your body that has the most negative buoyancy (your hips - where
your weight belt would go if you're wearing one), and by wrapping around the
side of your tank, they move the center of lift up towards the same plane as
the tanks center of gravity. All this with keeping you properly trimmed and
streamlined in mind.

<Stepping off his soapbox>

Hope this helps. Good luck.

Drew
